Our Wedding

Our StoryMartin and Crystal’s story is one of faith, timing, and the beautiful reminder that love often arrives exactly when it’s meant to.Both born and raised in New Jersey, their paths were shaped by similar roots long before they ever met. Each carried with them strong values, faith, resilience, and a heart for family and community. Life took them on different journeys, through experiences that prepared them for the love they would one day share.When Martin and Crystal met, there was an undeniable connection. Their conversations were easy, their laughter natural, and their shared understanding of life made their bond grow quickly. What began as a friendship soon blossomed into something deeper — a partnership built on faith, respect, and genuine joy in one another.One of the things that makes their story special is that they are both now Coopers — something they often smile about as they prepare to officially become “The Coopers.” Their love reflects not just romance, but friendship, patience, and the belief that God truly makes everything beautiful in its time.Together they enjoy laughter, good food, meaningful conversations, and celebrating life with the people they love. As they prepare for their wedding day, they are grateful for the journey that brought them together and for the family and friends who have supported them along the way.On April 4, 2026, Martin and Crystal will join their lives in marriage, beginning a new chapter filled with love, faith, and the promise of building a beautiful future together.

Our Story

Ceremonial Welcome and Spiritual CoveringBefore the ceremony begins, Martin and Crystal would like to recognize a special group of men and women who represent an important part of Martin’s faith journey.Joining them are the Deacons, their wives, and clergy from New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, who serve alongside Martin in ministry and leadership. These men and women have prayed with him, served with him, and walked beside him in faith. Today they are present not only as witnesses, but as a spiritual covering for both Martin and Crystal as they enter into this covenant of marriage. Martin and Crystal are grateful for their prayers, wisdom, and continued commitment to encourage and uplift their union. They are also honored to have Pastor Chuck Allen, pastor of Sugar Hill Church and Corner Gathering, a long-time friend and community partner of Crystal’s. Pastor Chuck partnered with Crystal on many school initiatives during her time as principal in the Lanier Cluster at Sycamore Elementary. He has graciously opened the doors of Corner Gathering Church to welcome the wedding party, family, and friends who have gathered to celebrate the marriage of Martin and Crystal. Pastor Chuck will welcome guests and open the ceremony in prayer. Following the prayer, Dr. Monica Batiste will officiate the wedding ceremony. Dr. Batiste has been a mentor, trusted friend, and confidant to Crystal for over sixteen years. Her wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support have meant so much throughout Crystal’s journey, and Martin and Crystal are honored to have her lead them in this sacred covenant of marriage.

Ceremonial Connections 

Please wear dressy cocktail attire appropriate for a church ceremony as we celebrate this special day together.Our colors are black, cream and gold, should you want to connect.

Dress Code

This is a great new hotel with great amenities that is 30 minutes north of the wedding venue/church. It's not mandatory that you stay here, but this one is such a beautiful hotel with great restaurants and in a safe place.

Dessert Reception

Our celebration will be a little different from the traditional reception. Instead, we have chosen to host a dessert reception filled with a variety of sweet treats for everyone to enjoy.If you would prefer a full meal, we encourage guests to dine beforehand or afterward. Following the ceremony, the happy couple will begin their honeymoon shortly after and have chosen to share their first meal as husband and wife at a special location.While we step away briefly to take photos, please enjoy light refreshments and desserts. We also have a fun surprise-Tikiz Shaved Ice &amp; Ice Cream for you to purchase some sweet treats (support small business) We will return to greet you, spend some time celebrating together, and share a few special moments before heading to our next stop to begin this beautiful new chapter.Thank you for celebrating with us.
